Caesar Rodney "Rider" Marching Band
The 2011-2012 edition of the Caesar Rodney "Rider" Marching Band continues a long established tradition of excellence.  Under the direction of DuWane L. Sandlin, this award-winning unit has participated in competitions covering the East Coast of the United States, the Ontario Province of Canada, and London, England.  They have also had the distinct honor of being a regularly showcased performing ensemble at Walt Disney World in Orlando.  The "Rider" band is a 23-time Tournament of Bands Chapter IX Champion and has been an Atlantic Coast Competition Finalist for the past 31 years.

This year the Rider Band will be performing music by American composer Ron Nelson. Selections include Lauds, Sonoran Desert Holiday, and Rocky Point Holiday.

Marching Band Class focuses on the combination of music and movement in both exhibitive and competitive environments.  Evening and weekend performances as well as summer marching camp are requried for successful completion of the course.  This class meets daily from 3:30 - 5:10pm during the months of September, October, and November.  The "Rider" Marching Band is a highly visible and well-known ensemble throughout Delaware and the mid-Atlantic region.  Members experience exciting travel opportunities, as well as a great sense of community involvement and service.
