Symphonic Bands (Blue & Gold Band)

Symphonic Band (Symphonic Techniques) concentrates on the mastery of music fundamentals and techniques, as well as the exploration of wind literature through rehearsal and performance.  To provide everyone with a quality performance opportunity, the Instrumental Music Department offers two symphonic ensembles. Membership is determined by playing level.  The Symphonic Bands perform two public concerts annually.

Jazz Ensembles (Jazz I and II)

The Instrumental Music Department at CRHS offers two Jazz Ensembles.  Membership is determined by available openings as well as individual playing level.  Each ensemble concentrates on the development of the foundations for performance in the jazz idiom.  Music styles addressed include early jazz through jazz fusion.

Both ensembles operate as graded, credited courses with performance expectations.  In addition to frequent public appearances, Jazz I presents two evening concerts in the Caesar Rodney Theater each year.  Jazz II preforms on the final concert of the year.

Caesar Rodney "Rider" Marching Band

The Caesar Rodney "Rider" Marching Band is a long-standing favorite in the community of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware.

The marching band programs focus on musical and visual excellence, development, achievement from early August to late November. This is a 70+ person competitive marching band that has been a part of multiple marching band circuits including USBands, Cavalcade of Bands, and Tournament of Bands.  The band program consistently travels across Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey for our competitions, and takes biennial trips to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to march down Main Street.

This group also supports our Caesar Rodney Football Team at each game. The "Rider" Marching Band operates as a graded, credited course and meets from 2:50 - 4:50 Monday - Friday.

Indoor Color Guard & Percussion

Any Caesar Rodney student in grades 8th - 12th is eligible to participate in these indoor programs; basic music skills are necessary.
